Job summary

Maybank is seeking a senior Operations professional to own the remittance, processing and reconciliation baseline across RENTAS, IBG, DuitNow/QR, SWIFT, and bulk payments. You will re-engineer processes, define target operating models, controls, and accountable owners while leading cutover, readiness, and hypercare activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma or recognized payments qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience in payments with end-to-end accountability for a process area is expected.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Own the current-state baseline for remittance, processing and reconciliation across RENTAS, IBG, DuitNow / QR, SWIFT, bulk payments and rail gateways.
• Re-engineer and standardise processes before configuration. Define the target operating model, controls, service levels and accountable owners.
• Own operational requirements, reconciliation, break ownership and exception management, with end-to-end traceability through design, testing and acceptance.
• Validate configuration and lead Operations SIT / UAT and migration assurance. Require remediation for design or control gaps.
• Own cutover, contingency, readiness and hypercare exit. Withhold clearance until critical tests pass, migration reconciles and no Severity 1 or unmitigated Severity 2 defects remain.
• Update SOPs and e-SPI, train and certify all designated users, and establish sustainable Operations governance. Confirm benefits through the 90-day review.
• Serve as the Bank’s accountable domain expert for the new platform and design the Operations structure, capabilities and governance required to run it sustainably

Job Requirements

• Experience in payments and one completed end-to-end implementation with quantified outcomes.
• Experience in payments and end-to-end accountability for a process area.
• Experience in service, sustained performance and cross-functional representation.
• Command of at least two payment domains and practical ISO 20022 implementation, migration or operational-change experience.
• Digital fluency demonstrated through implemented at least one use of workflow, data or automation tools that simplified a process, strengthened control or improved turnaround time, STP, exception rates or productivity.
• Evidence-led judgement and professional courage, demonstrated through at least one example of challenging a senior stakeholder or vendor, substantiating the risk with facts, proposing a viable alternative and securing or escalating a clear decision.
• Leadership potential is mandatory for the senior position. Candidates must evidence ownership of a material outcome, effective leadership under pressure and development of at least one colleague or team capability.
• Relevant professional foundation. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, CBAP or recognized payments qualifications are advantageous
