Job summary

The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council seeks a Southeast Asia & Oceania Regional Ethanol Manager to lead ethanol programs in the SEA&O region. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will plan and coordinate initiatives, supervise ongoing projects, and engage with buyers to promote U.S. feed grains and ethanol.

You will work with the SEA&O director, travel internationally, and manage marketing, trade servicing and government relations, while supporting related council activities in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; preference for international policy, business, agricultural science, data analysis or engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in public policy consulting, associations, commercial trading, or related field.
• Experience in ethanol, fuel or energy industry preferred; regional SEA&O experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn regional languages; strong public speaking and multi-cultural teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute Council ethanol programs in SEA&O.
• Lead marketing, trade servicing and government relations initiatives.
• Supervise SEA&O programs as outlined in the Unified Export Strategy.
• Travel internationally to meet buyers of U.S. feed grains, ethanol and coproducts.

International market development organization based in Washington, D.C. is recruiting a regional ethanol manager for Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEA&O). The individual in this position will work closely with the SEA&O director to plan, coordinate, and execute the Council’s ethanol programs in the region including, but not limited to, marketing, trade servicing, and government relations programs. The regional ethanol manager takes leadership in supervising Council programs in SEA&O as outlined in the Unified Export Strategy. In addition, the regional ethanol manager is responsible for traveling internationally to meet with buyers of U.S. feed grains, ethanol, and coproducts. The ethanol manager takes the lead in the ethanol focused programs, however, will be expected to understand and assist as needed with other council activities including the promotion of sorghum, barley and related feed grain products. Job Requirements

Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree with a preference for international policy, business, agricultural science, data analysis or engineering related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in public policy consulting, associations, commercial trading, or a related field is required. Experience in the ethanol, fuel, or energy industry is also preferred. The ideal candidate would have worked in the region or with Southeast Asian stakeholders. Willingness to learn regional languages is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess experience in public speaking and working with multi-cultural teams.
