Responsible for leading the Thai kitchen and ensuring the preparation and presentation of authentic Thai cuisine. This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and creating an exceptional dining experience. The Chef will also oversee menu development and ensure operational efficiency within the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development
- Design and develop an authentic Thai menu that reflects traditional and modern Thai culinary trends.
- Introduce seasonal specials and maintain menu consistency with high-quality ingredients.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan menus for special events and promotions.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Thai kitchen, ensuring efficiency and timeliness in food preparation.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to meet restaurant standards.
- Ensure proper inventory management, including ordering supplies and reducing food wastage.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including Sous Chefs, Chef De Partie, and other team members.
- Assign tasks and ensure smooth coordination among the team during peak hours.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive working environment.
Quality and Hygiene Standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Conduct routine kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Address and resolve any food safety or quality concerns immediately.
Budget and Cost Management
- Monitor food costs and develop strategies to achieve budgetary targets.
- Negotiate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at optimal pricing.
- Ensure cost-effective operations without compromising food quality.
Customer Satisfaction
- Collaborate with the service team to address customer feedback and enhance the dining experience.
- Innovate and adapt to customer preferences while staying true to Thai culinary traditions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Thai Head Chef with minimum 5 years experience.
- Expertise in authentic Thai cuisine, including traditional and contemporary dishes.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen operations.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
