Job summary

Ambition in Melaka, Malaysia invites applications for a Sourcing Manager to lead regional sourcing strategy and supplier development in a permanent role. The position emphasizes strategic thinking, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

You will oversee ERP-based procurement processes, drive cost optimisation, and mentor a procurement team while engaging with senior leadership in an expanding organization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of sourcing or procurement experience, ideally within precision or CNC manufacturing.
• Strong track record managing and developing suppliers, including those based in China.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English.
• Proven leadership of a sourcing or procurement team.
• Hands-on ERP system experience.
• Background in precision engineering, optics, or high-tech manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute sourcing strategies for CNC machined parts and precision mechanical components.
• Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
• Lead commercial negotiations and manage supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery.
• Champion cost optimisation and continuous improvement across the supply base.
• Mentor and develop a team of sourcing and procurement professionals.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
• Oversee ERP-based procurement processes and improve sourcing governance.

The Role
