Job summary

NTT DATA Payment Services is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define and enforce architectural standards across payment platforms, guiding scalable, secure cloud-native solutions and mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities include architecture reviews, reducing technical debt, and aligning designs with enterprise strategy. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in software and architecture, with fintech/regulatory experience and strong AWS/Docker/Kubernetes expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in software engineering and at least 3 years in architecture or a technical leadership role.
• Experience in payment gateways or financial platforms, with exposure to fintech or regulated environments.
• Experience modernising legacy platforms into cloud-native architectures, designing distributed systems, and guiding engineering teams.
• Strong experience with microservices, domain-driven design (DDD), clean/onion architectures, event-driven patterns (CQRS, SAGA, Outbox), distributed systems, .NET/C#, REST APIs, and BFF patterns, including orchestration-based workflows.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS (EKS, ECR, S3, RDS, Secrets Manager), Docker, Kubernetes resource design, rolling updates, and GitLab CI/CD, GitOps with ArgoCD, Kustomize, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure cloud-native architecture, secrets management, static and container security scanning, authentication/authorization patterns, event-driven integration (RabbitMQ), API versioning, backward compatibility, and feature flag/progressive rollout strategies

Job description

• Define and enforce architectural standards by providing clear direction across teams, ensuring consistency in APIs, communication patterns, resilience and observability, reducing design inconsistencies and rework, and establishing comprehensive engineering architecture guidelines.
• Guide engineering teams toward scalable and secure solutions by enhancing clarity in solution design, mentoring developers and technical leads in architecture best practices, and providing architectural guidance throughout planning and delivery phases.
• Reduce technical debt by assessing existing implementations to identify architectural gaps, driving initiatives that improve system scalability, reliability, and maintainability, while eliminating microservice duplication and strengthening service boundaries and domain ownership.
• Partner with engineering, platform, network, DevOps, security, compliance, and product teams including the CISO and Internal Audit to ensure long-term platform sustainability.
• Review and approve solution designs by establishing architecture review processes and design checkpoints, preventing over-engineering through pragmatic decisions, and defining reference architectures and reusable design templates.
• Take ownership of the Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) by ensuring solution designs align with enterprise principles and target-state architecture, while representing engineering in ETAC through preparing proposals, presenting designs, and ensuring initiatives comply with governance standards and strategic technology direction.
