Job summary

SM2 Consulting is seeking a senior Solution Architect to lead technical consultations for hyperscale, cloud, and AI data centers across Malaysia. You will guide workshops, translate requirements into modular data center concepts, and develop business cases for executive sponsors.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in data center infrastructure, strong electrical/mechanical systems knowledge, and proven experience with prefabricated solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data center infrastructure or critical facilities.
• Minimum 5 years in solution architecture, engineering design, or technical pre-sales.
• Proven experience with modular or prefabricated data center solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical authority in customer meetings, workshops, and executive presentations.
• Lead solution discovery sessions to capture operational, technical, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Convert customer requirements into integrated technical solution concepts for prefabricated/modular critical facilities.
• Develop business cases covering ROI, TCO, operational efficiency, and sustainability benefits, and present them to executive stakeholders.
• Apply reference designs and best practices to optimize delivery efficiency and reduce risk.
• Support sustainability initiatives (PUE/WUE optimization, green building certification alignment).
• Interface across sales, product management, engineering, and project execution teams; mentor junior technical staff.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (Master's or PE/data center certifications a plus).
• 10+ years in data center infrastructure or critical facilities; minimum 5 years in solution architecture, engineering design, or technical pre-sales.
• Proven experience with modular or prefabricated data center solutions.
• Track record in technical selling and opportunity development, ideally with hyperscale, cloud, or colocation accounts.
• Strong integrated electrical/mechanical systems knowledge and executive presence.
