Job summary

Timeless Green Sdn Bhd is seeking a Solar PV Engineer to support operations, maintenance and design works for renewable energy projects in Malaysia. The role offers on-the-job training, hands-on project exposure and opportunities for career advancement within a growing solar company.

You will perform O&M and design tasks, liaising with project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery. This full-time, on-site position requires travel and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years in electrical design or electrical system maintenance for renewable energy projects.
• Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, locally and overseas.
• Team player in a multi-disciplinary project team.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site O&M for solar power plants and implement corrective actions.
• Schedule and execute preventive and routine maintenance.
• Travel to project sites for on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and modifications.
• Provide timely written operation review reports from field operation and status updates.
• Ensure O&M activities meet OEM requirements and warranties.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and time/materials on work orders.
• Coordinate with authorities, property owners, consultants and contractors during project implementation.
• Carry out design checks and reviews of submitted electrical designs.
• Provide technical support and monitor project progress to ensure timely execution.
• Attend project design and construction meetings.
• Organize site inspections and witness testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Prepare reports on project progress at regular intervals.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SOLAR ENGINEER

A. O&M

• Experience in Operation and Maintenance works, especially for solar power generation plants.
• Identifies problems and develops corrective action plans.
• Scheduling and execution of preventive & routine maintenance.
• Travel to project sites to perform all aspects of on-site installation, repair, maintenance, oversight, and modifications as per requirements.
• Provide timely written review reports from field operation, status, and constructive feedback as requested.
• Ensure that all O&M activities performed at project sites complies with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements and warranties.
• Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.

B. Design

• To coordinate and liaise with authorities, property owners, other consultants and contractors during project implementation.
• To carry out design checks and reviews of submitted detailed and as-built electrical designs as required.
• To provide technical support, supervision and to monitor projects’ progress to ensure projects are executed correctly and timeously.
• Attendance at project design and construction meetings with others as necessary.
• To organize site inspections, and witness testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• To prepare reports on the progress of the projects at regular intervals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must possess a recognised Degree in Engineering (Electrical).
• Minimum 2 years working experience in electrical design and/or electrical system maintenance of renewable energy projects.
• Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, drawings and instructions.
• Good communication skills, both spoken and written, in English.
• Goal oriented and can work with minimum supervision.
• Willing to travel and work overtime, both overseas and locally.
• Able to work well in a multi-disciplinary project team.
