Job summary

We Power Venture Sdn Bhd, a fast-growing solar EPC company based in Kedah, seeks a capable Solar Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to oversee ~40 rooftop PV sites. You will monitor performance, plan maintenance, manage a technician team, and coordinate with clients to ensure safe, reliable energy generation.

You will lead data analysis of generation, implement preventive maintenance, optimise system performance, and drive continuous improvement across sites, while ensuring SLA

Solar Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manager

To oversee and manage the operation, performance, maintenance and technical activities of approximately 40++ rooftop solar PV installations. The O&M Manager is responsible for monitoring solar PV system performance, analysing generation data, planning maintenance activities, managing manpower and ensuring all sites operate efficiently, safely and reliably.

A. Solar PV Performance Monitoring & Analysis

1. Lead the operation and maintenance operator to perform following work:

1. Monitor the daily energy generation performance of all solar PV sites through the monitoring platform.

2. Review and analyse daily, weekly and monthly solar PV generation data.

3. Compare actual energy generation against expected generation and historical performance.

4. Analyse Performance Ratio (PR), Specific Yield and System Availability.

5. Identify sites with abnormal generation performance or underperforming inverters.

6. Investigate generation losses and identify the root causes of poor system performance.

7. Identify sites requiring immediate attention and arrange the necessary corrective actions.

8. Prepare monthly performance comparisons and evaluations for all solar PV sites.

9. Recommend improvement measures to optimise system performance and maximise energy generation.

B. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

1. Prepare and implement an annual Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan covering all solar PV sites.

2. Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.

3. Arrange technician assignments based on site locations, maintenance requirements and work priorities.

4. Coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and solar PV module cleaning activities.

5. Arrange site inspections based on monitoring results and maintenance requirements.

6. Prioritise maintenance activities according to equipment conditions, system downtime and potential generation losses.

7. Coordinate with clients to arrange site access, maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns.

8. Monitor and ensure all scheduled maintenance activities are completed within the planned timeframe.

C. Team & Manpower Management

1. Manage and supervise the Senior Technician and O&M technician team.

2. Assign responsibilities and work instructions to the Senior Technician.

3. Review daily work progress, site inspection reports and maintenance activities.

4. Ensure technicians complete their assigned tasks according to the maintenance schedule.

5. Monitor manpower productivity, work quality and task completion.

6. Arrange and allocate manpower according to site locations and operational requirements.

7. Identify manpower requirements and recommend additional resources when necessary.

8. Conduct regular technical meetings, work reviews and performance evaluations.

9. Ensure technicians receive appropriate technical training and safety briefings.

D. Technical Troubleshooting & Corrective Action

1. Review technical problems and equipment abnormalities reported by the Senior Technician.

2. Provide technical guidance and direction for major equipment failures and troubleshooting activities.

3. Coordinate with inverter manufacturers, equipment suppliers and technical support teams.

4. Review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action reports.

5. Monitor recurring equipment faults and recommend permanent corrective solutions.

6. Ensure equipment failures and system abnormalities are resolved within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).

7. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.

E. Reporting & Documentation

1. Prepare consolidated monthly O&M reports covering all solar PV sites.

2. Prepare site-by-site solar PV generation and performance comparisons.

3. Maintain updated preventive and corrective maintenance records for every site.

4. Monitor outstanding maintenance issues and follow up on corrective actions.

5. Report major equipment failures, system downtime and generation losses to management.

6. Prepare annual maintenance plans and O&M budgets.

7. Maintain updated equipment inventories, warranty records, technical drawings and operation manuals.

8. Ensure all inspection and maintenance reports are properly documented and submitted on time.

F. Client & Contract Management

1. Act as the main contact person for clients regarding solar PV operation and maintenance matters.

2. Attend client meetings and provide operational and maintenance updates.

3. Monitor compliance with O&M contractual requirements and service obligations.

4. Handle client complaints, technical enquiries and maintenance requests.

5. Coordinate planned shutdowns, emergency maintenance and site access arrangements.

6. Ensure all contractual maintenance obligations and reporting requirements are fulfilled.

7. Maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers, equipment manufacturers and other relevant parties.
