Job summary

MR.DIY is seeking a Software Product Development Specialist to own enterprise software products within the Digital Transformation portfolio, translating business goals into prioritized features and coordinating delivery across markets and store formats.

You will bridge business and technical teams, define functional requirements with Business Analysts, drive testing and go-live, and champion adoption to deliver measurable value across MR.DIY's operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in software product development or tech product roles.
• Experience with ERP, retail, e-commerce, or supply chain systems.
• Strong cross-country/multi-market experience is a plus.
• Fluent in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.

Job description

The Software Product Development Specialist owns enterprise software products and modules within MR.DIY's Digital Transformation portfolio — from business requirement through to live deployment at scale. Acting as the bridge between business and technical teams, the specialist translates business goals into prioritised product features, balances competing departmental needs, and drives delivery, testing, and adoption across multiple markets and store formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business goals into product features — and a prioritised roadmap aligned to the Digital Transformation roadmap.
• Balance competing requirements — across multiple departments and technical and business stakeholders — distinguishing core must-haves from features that can be added on later.
• Assess cross-project impact — evaluating how other ongoing and new projects affect scope, dependencies, and sequencing.

Delivery & Lifecycle

• Own products end-to-end — from requirements through functional design, build, testing, and live deployment.
• Define functional requirements — working with Business Analysts to turn business needs into specifications and user stories.
• Drive quality and release — set acceptance criteria, coordinate user-acceptance testing, and validate functionality before go-live.
• Champion adoption — support roll-out and training so products are used correctly and deliver measurable value.

Stakeholders, Vendors & Governance

• Bridge business, engineering, and operations — and drive decisions to closure.
• Manage vendors — delivering products or modules against scope, quality, and timelines.
• Uphold governance — ensuring changes follow architectural, data, security, and compliance standards.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8+ years' experience in software product development, delivery, or technical product roles, ideally including ERP, retail, e-commerce, or supply chain systems.
• Demonstrated experience taking products or systems from requirements through to live deployment at scale.
• Experience working with or integrating into ERP, inventory, POS, or supply chain platforms.
• Experience operating across multiple markets or business units (or clear ability to design for multi-country / multi-site complexity).
• Strong written and spoken Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Commercial / ROI judgment — frames solutions in measurable operational impact (labour, shrinkage, replenishment accuracy, rollout time); pragmatic on build-vs-buy.
• Scale and standardization mindset — designs for thousands of stores across countries while allowing local variation.
• Multi-country compliance awareness — treats localization, tax / e-invoicing, and data protection (e.g. PDPA) as core design factors.
• Legacy modernization and integration skill — strong at incremental migration and integrating with existing systems without disrupting operations.
• Operational empathy — grounds requirements in how store, supply chain, and back-office teams actually work.
• Technical fluency and feasibility judgment — can assess cost, risk, and feasibility credibly with engineering.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management — translates between business, engineering, and operations; drives decisions to closure.
• Ownership and follow-through — chases edge cases, dependencies, and loose ends; cares whether it works in the field.
