Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan EPS Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head a 10-person team of software and electrical-control engineers focusing on motion control, machine vision, I/O integration, and host communication.

You will drive multiple customer projects, owning schedules, risks, and delivery quality, and act as the main technical interface with clients on site commissioning as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in industrial or automation software, including 3+ years of people management.
• End-to-end product delivery experience in industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, machine vision, medical devices, robotics, or similar.

Job description

Lead a team of ~10 software and electrical-control engineers covering motion control, machine vision, I/O integration, and host communication.

Drive multiple parallel customer projects, accountable for schedule, risk, and delivery quality.

Take ownership of critical customer field issues, from root-cause analysis to fix and release.

Establish and enforce engineering standards for Git branching, code review, release management, and regression testing.

Lead architecture reviews and design of core modules — application framework, motion-control interfaces, and communication layer.

Balance customer-specific requirements with platform reusability, avoiding a separate fork for every project.

Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and vision teams to ensure smooth hardware–software integration.

Serve as a technical interface with customers and support on‑site commissioning and troubleshooting when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

8+ years of software engineering experience in industrial or automation software, including 3+ years of people management, with prior experience managing software engineers and electrical/controls engineers together.

End-to-end product delivery experience (from prototype to customer production deployment) in industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, machine vision, medical devices, robotics, or a similar industry.

Strong .NET / C# background with solid object-oriented design; proficient in WPF and MVVM, and able to independently review complex ViewModel and state-machine code.

Hands‑on experience in at least one of the following:

• o Real-time motion control / EtherCAT / servo control
• o Industrial cameras and machine-vision system integration
• o Semiconductor factory host communication (SECS/GEM protocol family)

Familiarity with Git workflows and code review practices.

Willingness to travel to customer sites in China, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe, and North America as projects require.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in semiconductor front-end equipment or assembly & test (back-end) equipment.

Experience managing multi-customer, multi-version product lines in parallel.

Proven experience overseeing the development or integration of AI-driven solutions, including but not limited to computer vision, classification systems, or intelligent automation.

Working knowledge of servo/stepper motors, pneumatics, industrial sensors, and protocols such as Modbus at the system‑integration level.

Understanding of industrial safety systems and electrical integration standards.
