Job summary

DHL IT Services in Cyberjaya is seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to help build the technology backbone of a global logistics leader. You will work on Java backend and microservices, with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and cloud exposure.

Collaboration across regions and teams in a multinational setting is expected, with strong English communication. You will contribute to design, development, and testing while embracing Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Core Java skills with OOP, data structures and exception handling.
• Experience with Java EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Full-stack capabilities: React frontend and Node.js backend; HTML/CSS/JS.
• Relational and NoSQL databases; SQL, ORM tools like Hibernate; performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) and security best practices.

You will provide second/third level day-to-day operation support, and help investigate and resolve incidents, which were not resolved in lower support levels. Here's what we are looking for: As a Software Engineer, having expertise in Java JDK 17 & 21 is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of web and backend application development will also be an integral part of this role. You are a technology aficionado, therefore you have a good understanding of cloud computing and microservices architecture. You are able to work independently, prioritize and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe, thus being advanced in spoken and written English will be certainly useful.

What you will do:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality software solutions using Java and related technologies
• Contribute to architectural decisions and design patterns to ensure scalable and robust software systems.
• Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve development processes and methodologies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure efficient project execution.
• Oversee the deployment of applications and services, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and solutions, fostering transparency and collaboration

What you should have:

• Strong hands-on Core Java skills are mandatory, with a deep understanding of:
  • Object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Data structures, collections, algorithms and exception handling
  • Multithreading and concurrency
  • Java design patterns and clean coding principles
• Strong experience with Java enterprise development and frameworks, including:
  • Spring Boot and Spring MVC
  • Hibernate / JPA / ORM
  • RESTful API and microservices development
  • Java EE technologies where applicable
• Full-stack / end-to-end development experience with:
  • React for front-end application development
  • Node.js for backend/API development where applicable
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • RESTful APIs and integration between front-end and backend services
• Strong database knowledge, including:
  • Relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • SQL development, data modelling and ORM tools such as Hibernate
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, such as:
  • GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins
  • Automated build, testing and deployment pipelines
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
• Good understanding of application security, including:
  • Secure coding practices
  • Authentication and authorization
  • API and application security principles
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, including application deployment and scalability.
• Knowledge of Java application performance tuning, troubleshooting and optimization.

Added-Value / Preferred Skills

• AI Agent development experience using Python.
• Practical understanding of AI/Generative AI technologies, LLMs and AI agent concepts.
• Exposure to AI frameworks or technologies:
  • LangChain / LangGraph
  • Google Agent Development Kit (ADK)
  • Google Enterprise Agent Platform
  • Model/API integration with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Gemini or similar platforms
• Experience integrating AI agents into existing enterprise applications, APIs or development workflows would be an advantage.
