Job summary

George Kent (Malaysia) Berhad is seeking a Software Engineer (HES Deployment & Integration) to support the deployment, integration, configuration and operational readiness of AMR/AMI HES and related software solutions.

The role involves developing deployment tools, scripts and automation to improve efficiency, consistency and reliability of software deployment across customer and project environments, as well as system integration, data migration, troubleshooting and post-deployment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in software development, system integration, deployment or related engineering.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL; experience with database configuration, scripts and data migration.
• Experienced in Python, PowerShell, Bash or equivalent scripting languages.
• Experienced in REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS and web/backend systems.
• Experienced in integrating applications, APIs, database, and third-party systems.
• Experienced in deploying and configuring software applications in Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Strong ability to analyse logs, database records, API responses and system behaviour to identify root causes.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle covering requirements, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Good understanding of basic web/application security, authentication, access control and secure deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop deployment tools, scripts and utilities to automate HES/software installation, configuration, validation and maintenance activities.
• Prepare software deployment packages, configuration files, database scripts, environment parameters and supporting tools required for project implementation.
• Configure HES, application servers, databases, APIs and related software components according to approved system architecture and project requirements.
• Integrate HES, APIs and backend interfaces with customer systems, third-party platforms, network services and AMI/IoT components.
• Implement device onboarding, configuration, data mapping and communication interface setup required for AMI deployment.
• Develop scripts and tools for data migration, bulk configuration, database initialization, data validation and deployment verification.
• Conduct end-to-end deployment and integration testing covering device, communication, HES, API, database and customer-system interfaces.
• Monitor deployed systems through application logs, database records, system health indicators and communication data to identify abnormal conditions.
• Troubleshoot deployment and integration issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions in coordination with relevant technical teams.
• Support field and customer deployment activities, including remote and on-site troubleshooting, system configuration and deployment verification where required.

Software Engineer (HES Deployment & Integration)

To support the deployment, integration, configuration and operational readiness of the company's AMR/AMI HES and associated software solutions. The role is responsible for developing deployment tools, scripts and automation to improve the efficiency, consistency and reliability of software deployment across customer and project environments. Key responsibilities
