Job summary

ARRK Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer to join its automotive software team in Malaysia. You will develop software for Linux- and Android-based embedded systems, implement UI/UX for next-gen cockpits, and collaborate with international teams across the product lifecycle.

The role offers exposure to production-grade systems, rapid prototyping, and opportunities to grow into more senior technical responsibilities within a global ARRK group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• Solid programming skills in C++, Kotlin and Python.
• Hands-on software development experience via internships, roles, or projects.
• Good understanding of Embedded Linux and embedded software development.
• Experience with Android Automotive OS and in-vehicle software platforms.
• Knowledge of Qt/QML and modern UI/HMI development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
• Understanding of automotive communication technologies such as CAN and Automotive Ethernet.

Job description

ARRK Engineering is part of the international ARRK group of companies and specialized in product development. Within the ARRK group of companies we implement product developments from virtual development to prototypes and small series production.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing automotive software team in Malaysia. You'll help build the software that runs directly in and on the vehicle - from cockpit displays to in-car interactions - for leading global OEMs. Our work spans both series development and early-stage concepts and PoCs, so you'll get hands-on experience with both production-grade systems and forward-looking innovation projects - with clear opportunities to grow toward more senior technical responsibility over time.

YOUR TASKS

• Develop software for Linux- and Android-based embedded systems using modern tools and development methods
• Implement UI/UX concepts in software for next-generation vehicle cockpits
• Support rapid prototyping of design and interaction concepts on embedded systems and mobile devices
• Contribute to the design and integration of AI-based features in the vehicle context
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional and international teams (engineering, design, project management)
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following established coding standards
• Support debugging, testing, and quality assurance activities across the software lifecycle

YOUR PROFILE

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid programming skills in C++, Kotlin, and Python.
• Initial hands-on experience in software development through internships, working student positions, academic projects, or professional roles.
• Good understanding of Embedded Linux and embedded software development.
• Experience with Android Automotive OS and in-vehicle software platforms.
• Knowledge of Qt/QML and modern UI/HMI development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and modern software engineering practices.
• Understanding of automotive communication technologies such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, or vehicle software architectures.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to technical challenges.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken
