Job summary

Skribble Lab is seeking a full-stack software engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our growing team in Malaysia. You will contribute to backend and frontend efforts, work with Laravel PHP, and optionally React/Next.js, HTML/CSS, and databases.

We offer a four-day work-from-home arrangement, flexible hours, and a supportive team focused on deep skill growth. Fresh grads are welcome as part of a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
• Understand or worked with LEMP/LAMP stack.
• Proficient in PHP/Laravel, or willing to learn quickly.
• Experience with React/Next.js is a plus.
• Strong HTML/CSS skills to build frontend according to mocks.
• Relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server).
• Flutter or native mobile development a plus.
• CMS experience (WordPress/Drupal) a plus.
• Familiar with TDD/BDD concepts and projects is a plus.
• Able to think analytically and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to write modular, testable, scalable code meeting project requirements.
• Understand system requirements and task details from the project lead.
• Provide feedback to team lead/solutions architect for improvements.
• Follow software development best practices and coding standards.
• Contribute in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint reviews.
• Flag and escalate issues to prevent roadblocks.
• Provide technical support to clients as needed, occasionally after hours.
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Job description

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years full-stack experience (fresh grads are welcome!) in backend technologies and is able to work closely with other team members to build solutions that will meet business needs.

You will work with a team of 10 people in web application development or SaaS product development. We are looking for individuals who can work independently in a software development project, at the same time collaborating with partners and other stakeholders in executing the technical requirements.

Both Backend or Fullstack roles are available depending on your skill sets and interests.

• Work actively with other team members to write modular, testable, and scalable code to meet software development projects requirements and deadline.
• To fully understand system requirements and project tasks given by project lead.
• Provide technical input and feedback to team lead/solution architect if there are any opportunities for improvement.
• Adhere to software development best practices.
• Implement the highest level of coding standards to deliver quality work.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint reviews with the team.
• Frequently touch-base with project lead and elevate any foreseeable issues to prevent project roadblocks.
• Take turns to provide technical support to clients (sometimes during non-working hours) if necessary.
• Leverage on AI agents to improve productivity and work quality (but not vibe coding!)

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
• Understand or worked with LEMP/LAMP stack.
• Proficient in PHP/Laravel, or will be willing to learn PHP/Laravel quickly
• Experience in React/Next.js is a plus
• Good understanding of HTML and CSS – able to build frontend websites according to mock-ups.
• Good understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server)
• Experience with Flutter or native mobile development is a plus.
• Experience with any CMS (e.g. WordPress or Drupal) is a plus.
• Familiar with TDD/BDD concepts and participated in a TDD/BDD based project is a plus.
• Able to think positively and critically, using logical and analytical steps to problem solving.
• Have great attention to detail and able to work independently.
