Job summary

Ola Chat in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a creative short-form video editor to support overseas social media operations and develop engaging language-learning content across IG, YouTube, TikTok and Xiaohongshu.

You will research trends, plan concepts, and edit reels or shorts with CapCut or Premiere Pro, while ensuring accessible bilingual delivery in Chinese, English, and Japanese. This hybrid, 3–6 month role offers flexible hours and room to grow.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Chinese, working-level English, and Japanese N3 or above.
• Strong social media and internet sense, with a good understanding of effective hooks, titles, and content formats.
• Creative, curious, and proactive in spotting trends and developing new content ideas
• Basic short-form video editing skills.
• Able to independently research and analyze viral content and explain why it performs well.

2. Short-form Video Editing

• Edit Reels and Shorts.
• Independently produce engaging and well‑paced short‑form videos. No advanced VFX required.

Requirements

• Fluent in Chinese, working‑level English, and Japanese N3 or above.
• Strong social media and internet sense, with a good understanding of effective hooks, titles, and content formats.
• Creative, curious, and proactive in spotting trends and developing new content ideas
• Basic short‑form video editing skills.
• Able to independently research and analyze viral content and explain why it performs well.

Nice to Have

• Experience managing YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Xiaohongshu accounts.
• Personal social media account, content portfolio, or previous content creation experience.
• Experience creating viral or high‑view content.
• Familiarity with CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Canva.
• Understanding of cultural differences across Japanese, Chinese, and English‑speaking markets.
• Comfortable appearing on camera or doing voiceovers.

Remarks: This role is currently on a hybrid arrangement. However, employees may be required to return to the office on a full on‑site basis in the future, subject to company policy.
