Job summary

TDK-Lambda Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor is seeking an SMT Technician to join the manufacturing team in a full-time role. You will operate and maintain SMT production lines, perform line changeovers, and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime while ensuring quality and efficiency.

The role requires a Diploma or Certificate in Engineering and at least 2 years of hands-on SMT or electronics manufacturing experience, with proficiency in Excel, ME BOM, MES, and SMT software.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in engineering is required, with preferred fields in electrical, electronic, mechanical or mechatronics.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing or SMT environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel), ME BOM, MES and SMT equipment software.
• Solid understanding of SMT production environments and workflows.
• Prior SMT/PCBA assembly experience is highly preferred.
• Experience operating SMT equipment and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery.

About the role
We are seeking a skilled SMT Technician to join the manufacturing team at TDK-Lambda Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work with surface mount technology (SMT) equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. As an SMT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our SMT production lines, directly contributing to the quality and output of our electronic components and power supply products.

What you'll be doing

Operate and maintain SMT production equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Execute daily line changeovers, machine setups, and precise component adjustments.

Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on SMT machines to minimize downtime.

Monitor the SMT assembly process closely to safeguard product quality and minimize defects.

Debug, fine-tune, and optimize SMT machine programs and component part IDs during new model launches.

What we’re looking for

Possess a Diploma or Certificate in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics preferred).

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an electronics manufacturing or SMT environment.

Proficient in technical software, including Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel), ME BOM, MES, and specialized SMT equipment software.

Solid understanding of SMT production environments and manufacturing workflows.

Prior experience in SMT or PCBA assembly is highly preferred.

Proven experience operating SMT equipment and working in electronics manufacturing or assembly environments.

Proficiency in basic troubleshooting and problem-solving of manufacturing equipment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
