Job summary
Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to develop and implement safety policies in line with the OSH Framework and Regulations. You will monitor changing legal requirements and drive the Safety Management System across site and HQ.
The role focuses on hazard identification, risk assessment, and pro-active control measures, ensuring subcontractors meet SMS requirements and maintaining documentation for DOSH and HQ.
Qualifications
- Valid Yellow Book certificate registered with DOSH.
- Knowledge of OSH frameworks and regulations.
- Experience implementing SMS on-site and at HQ.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing safety policies aligned with OSH FMA and regulations.
- Review and monitor evolving legal and compliance requirements.
- Implement Safety Management System requirements at site and HQ.
- Identify hazards, assess risks and apply control measures.
- Ensure subcontractors meet SMS requirements.
- Review HIRARC and Job Hazard Analysis prior to execution.
- Maintain Emergency Response Plan information and distribute updates.
- Conduct site safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
- Submit Monthly Safety Reports and DOHS-related documentation.
- Liaise with DOSH, Police and other agencies on health and safety matters.
