Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to ensure site safety and regulatory compliance across construction and manufacturing environments. The role focuses on conducting risk assessments (HIRARC), safety audits, incident investigations, and enforcing PPE usage and safe work procedures.

You will liaise with DOSH, clients, and auditors, maintain safety records and permits, and lead inductions and toolbox talks to promote a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Registered SHO with DOSH (Green Book) required.
• Diploma or Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in safety role (construction/manufacturing preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, HIRARC, and safety audits.
• Good communication in English and BM; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site safety and compliance with OSHA 1994 and DOSH requirements.
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments (HIRARC), and safety audits.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Enforce safety rules, safe work procedures, and PPE usage.
• Coordinate safety programmes – work permits, emergency drills, contractor safety.
• Conduct safety inductions and toolbox meetings.
• Liaise with DOSH, clients, and auditors during inspections.
• Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
