Job summary

Gloo in Malaysia seeks a Safety Officer to support the SHO in implementing site safety policies, conduct daily inspections, and ensure PPE compliance. The role requires coordinating with region teams and subcontractors across multiple sites and travel to outstations.

You’ll assist in safety training, incident reporting, emergency planning, and audits. CIDB Green Card is essential, and knowledge of HIRARC is preferred; position is full-time or contract with significant field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Malaysia's safety regulations, OHSA compliance, and EHS best practices.
• CIDB Green Card holder required.
• Willing to travel across Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.

Responsibilities

• Support the SHO in implementing and monitoring site safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHE Plan, Method of Statement (MoS) and Risk Assessment.
• Ensure workers always use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct Toolbox Meeting (TBM) and safety briefings for workers and subcontractors.
• Assist in organizing safety training, inductions and awareness programs.
• Report unsafe acts & condition, near misses, incidents and accidents to the SHO.
• Assist in accident investigation and preparation of incident reports.
• Monitor site activities to ensure work is carried out as per approved OSHE Plan.
• Coordinate with Region Project Coordinator, Site Supervisor and sub-contractors to maintain safe work practice.
• Assist in emergency response planning and drill (fire, evacuation, first aid etc.)
• Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, permit to work and safety reports.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly safety reports.
• Monitor site housekeeping to ensure clean and safe working conditions.
• Assist during safety audit and inspection by client or authorities.
• To undertake any ad-hoc assignments as and when required.

Requirements:

• Min 3 years and above experience in SSS
• Willing to travel outstation for whole Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan
