Job summary

Mega Sedaya Construction seeks a Safety & Health Officer to oversee site safety, enforce PPE usage, and coordinate safety programs across projects in Malaysia.

The ideal candidate holds relevant qualifications, DOSH/NIOSH Yellow Book, at least two years’ experience in construction safety, and is willing to travel or relocate.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a safety-related qualification and relevant degree.
• Safety & Health Officer with DOSH/NIOSH/JKKP Yellow Book is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Occupational Safety & Health in construction.
• Willingness to travel or relocate; strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities at the construction site.
• Ensure workers wear protective equipment.
• Investigate accidents and address root causes.
• Address safety concerns from workers promptly.
• Receive and act on safety reports from workers.
• Act as liaison between workers and management on safety and organization.
• Carry out responsibilities of project-based SSS.
• Communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

1. 1) Supervises day-to-day activities within a particular construction workplace
2. 2) Ensures that workers make use of necessary protective equipment
3. 3) Investigates accidents and tackle their causes
4. 4) Takes note of workers’ safety concerns and immediately acts on them
5. 5) Receives and acts on reports regarding safety concerns from workers within the construction site/workplace
6. 6) Serves as a link between workers and top management when it comes to issues that have to do with the safety and proper organization of the workplace
7. 7) To carry out the responsibilities of project based SSS
8. 8) Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
9. 9) A registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH/NIOSH/JKKP with Yellow Book holder
10. 10) At least two (2) years’ experience in Occupational Safety & Health in construction Industry
11. 11) Applicants must be willing to travel or relocate
12. 12) Excellent communication skills, writing skills, computer literate and able to work under minimum supervision
