A safety and health consultancy is seeking a Safety and Health Officer in Malaysia to oversee compliance with OSHA regulations and manage safety activities on-site. The candidate should hold a degree in Occupational Safety & Health and be a registered Safety Officer with at least 5 years of experience in construction. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential. Responsibilities include conducting safety audits, training staff, and maintaining safety documentation. Competitive package offered.
The Safety and Health Officer is to perform duties of SHO as specified in the OSHA 1994 and OSH (SHO Regulation) regulation 18, 19 and 20. The Safety and Health including statutory laws and regulations in relation to all activities in the project
Ensure subcontractor compliance of safety requirements Remove personnel not wearing proper PPE or are a safety risk
To coordinate all the Safety and Health activities in the project site
Conduct HIRADC and Job Safety Analysis and take preventive action in safety and health matters
To monitor and supervise the activities of safety and health program and to provide supervision and coordinate the activities of the Site Safety Supervisors
To maintain records of meeting minute related to Safety and Health Committee of the Project
To conduct mishap investigations inclusive on accidents, incidents and near misses
To conduct inspections and audits as required by the Safety and Health program
Liaise with main-contractors on all safety and health related matters
Plan safety into all daily work activities
To verify Permit to Work.
To conduct daily site patrol and weekly site inspection to ensure the Safety & Health measures are taken
To conduct toolbox and train the supervisors and engineers for conducting toolbox
As a leader of the toolbox daily
To supervise and conduct training regarding safety and health (Ex: Safety Induction and other work-related training)
To review each HIRARC/JSA of the site work developed by Main Con/Sub-Con
