Job summary

ARKITEK ECPO SDN. BHD. is seeking an Inspector of Works to ensure construction works comply with contract drawings, specifications, and current regulations.

The role involves site inspections, advising contractors on quality control, and coordinating with consultants to resolve design issues. The candidate should have a Diploma/Certificate from a technical institution and at least five years of relevant experience, with preference for those registered as Inspector of Works with LAM.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from a technical institution or higher
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field
• Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation and reporting skills
• Experience supervising high-rise residential or similar projects preferred
• Registered with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) as Inspector of Works (IOW)

Responsibilities

• Check drawings against contract drawings and specifications for consistency
• Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with contract and current legislation
• Advise contractors on quality control and interpretation of documents
• Prepare progress and site activity reports
• Supervise construction works to meet specifications and timelines
• Ensure delivered materials conform to approved specs and inspection plans
• Identify and manage remedial works within contract timelines
• Report progress and issues to superiors and recommend solutions
• Issue site memos and NCRs as needed
• Coordinate RFIs and liaise with consultants to resolve design issues
• Monitor progress and report delays to the Architect
• Record variations and completion measurements
• Assist with final accounts preparation
• Maintain documentation of progress, labour, equipment and weather
• Attend site and technical meetings and implement company QA procedures
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management
