Job summary

Air Products in Malaysia's Pengerang site seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead the on-site ASU and related facilities, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective operations. You will manage budgets, drive continuous improvement and align with ISO and Halal standards where applicable.

The role requires a strong background in process safety, EHS compliance, and proven leadership of cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree related to Process Industry or Operations management; ASU experience is a plus.
About 10 years of work experience in a similar environment; >3 years in people management.
Deep knowledge in EHS compliance in chemical/process industry (OSHA, PSM, DOSH).
Leadership characteristics: decisive, results-oriented, persuasive, strong communicator.
Ability to lead and mentor staff; influence and gain commitment at all organization levels.
Possess high professional ethics, good judgment, and ability to take decisive action.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills; understanding of P&L and financial practices.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site operations and develop site policies and goals.
Provide safety leadership and implement Process Safety Management in production plants.
Lead production activities to maximize quality within budget and improve productivity.
Drive continuous improvement and scalability to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Ensure products meet customer quality standards and delivery schedules.
Develop and implement management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001; Halal where applicable).
Lead local operations team and deploy Food Safety Management System where applicable.
Maintain accreditations and quality assurance systems.
Coordinate with Plant Project engineering and Maintenance to set up and maintain facilities.
Focus on reliable plant operations and reducing capital, labor, and material costs; pursue maintenance excellence.
Facilitate cross-functional process improvements and establish RACI charts.
Support risk evaluation and decision-making; lead in improving Conduct of Operations and BRP implementation.
Develop talents and organization to support growth and drive safety, reliability and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with national/local regulations and audits.
Facilitate audits against standards and internal processes; site security and licensing compliance.
