Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a capable Assist Construction Manager to support planning and coordination of construction activities at our projects in Sedenak, Johor. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies, monitoring C&S and architectural works, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and contract requirements.

You will liaise with engineering teams, consultants and subcontractors to keep progress on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years' experience in C&S and/or architectural works in the construction industry.
• Experience in construction coordination, preferably with a main contractor.
• Prior construction experience in data center is a plus.
• Good understanding of construction processes, drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of relevant local construction rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Construction Manager in planning and coordinating construction activities.
• Review drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with consultants and subcontractors.
• Monitor C&S and architectural works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and contract requirements.
• Liaise with engineering teams, consultants and subcontractors on technical and site matters.
• Monitor work progress and prepare progress reports for Management.
• Ensure quality records are properly maintained and project quality requirements are met.
• Ensure works are carried out in compliance with site safety requirements, approved procedures and applicable regulations.
