About the role

We are seeking a Shop Assistant to join the team at KK SUPERMART Perak in Kampar Sentral (PKST). This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to the smooth operation of our retail store. As a Shop Assistant, you will be at the heart of our customer service operations, ensuring that every shopper has a pleasant and efficient shopping experience. This role is crucial in maintaining our store standards and supporting our customers throughout their visit.

What you'll be doing

Greeting customers warmly and providing excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience

Assisting customers with product enquiries and helping them locate items within the store

Operating the checkout till accurately and processing transactions efficiently

Maintaining store cleanliness and tidiness, including shelving, stock displays and floor areas

Stocking shelves with merchandise and ensuring products are displayed attractively and according to store guidelines

Monitoring stock levels and alerting management to items that require replenishment

Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating issues to management when necessary

Supporting store promotional activities and ensuring signage is current and accurate

Following health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

Assisting with store opening and closing procedures as required

What we're looking for

Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers

Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly as required for part-time hours

Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and cash handling

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate

Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from management

Willingness to learn and adapt to store procedures and systems

Neat personal look and professional presentation
