Job summary

Knauf Insulation Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Shift Mechanical Technician to support the engineering department. The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, and minimizing downtime through timely, effective actions.

You will work in shifts, with responsibilities across conveyors, pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and sensors, aiming for safe, efficient plant operation and close collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, valves and cylinders.
• Familiarity with motors, wiring and sensors in automation.
• Ability to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and predictive maintenance and respond to plant breakdowns.
• Carry out mechanical routine maintenance to keep plant machinery running safely and efficiently.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs to maximize plant operation.
• Anticipate failures and advise on preventive actions.
• Work with minimal supervision and complete work orders on time.
• Coordinate with production and other departments during breakdowns.
• Report infrastructure issues to the team leader.
