Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
• At least two years of practical experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven welding, fabrication, cutting, grinding, and assembly skills.
• Experience with machinery alignment and balancing procedures.
• Background in maintaining heavy industrial machinery and equipment.
• Experience in cement, building materials, concrete, mining, or similar manufacturing sectors preferred.
• Welding proficiency desirable (Arc, MIG, TIG).
• Competence in metal fabrication and workshop practices.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
• Knowledge of alignment and balancing techniques.
• Experience maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, conveyors.
• Bearing installation and lubrication management.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting is a plus.
• Familiarity with CMMS advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement scheduled, condition-based, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
• Identify mechanical failures and perform repairs to minimize production delays.
• Oversee servicing, replacement, and upkeep of rotating assemblies (shafts, bearings, gearboxes, belts).
• Assist with setup, commissioning, modification, and optimization of machinery.
• Assess asset health and recommend improvements to reliability and performance.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication per drawings and measurements.
• Create sketches and drawings to support repair workflows and maintain logs.
• Utilize precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and alignments.
• Analyze failures to identify root causes and preventive actions.
• Maintain clean, safe workshops and ensure LOTO compliance.
• Report issues to management and participate in continuous improvement.
