Job summary

Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead Takaful / Shariah Audit activities, delivering independent assurance on governance, risk and controls. You will plan and execute audits, assess Shariah compliance, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen operations.

The role reports to the Chief Internal Auditor and collaborates with the Shariah Audit team to coordinate coverage and ensure timely follow-up of audit actions, while contributing to continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Shariah, Islamic Finance, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field.
• A relevant professional qualification such as CIFP, CPSA, CIA or equivalent is an advantage.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, Shariah audit, Shariah compliance, Islamic finance or Takaful.
• Experience independently managing audit assignments and engaging management stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of Shariah principles applicable to muamalat, Islamic finance and Takaful operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute Takaful operational and Shariah audit assignments with risk-focused approach.
• Analyse audit results and prepare evidence-based reports for management and committees.
• Monitor management actions arising from audit findings and ensure timely remediation.
• Support annual risk assessment, audit planning and maintenance of Shariah audit universe and risk registers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit practices and governance processes.

Education
