Job summary

Aggreko plc in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Service Technician - Electrical to install, commission, decommission and maintain electrical equipment, including generators, transformers and load banks.

The role requires a diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics, 1–2 years electrical experience, and A4 Chargeman certification. Willingness to travel on/offshore and respond to breakdowns after hours.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical / Electronic /Mechatronics Engineering
• 1–2 years of electrical field experience (mechanical experience is a plus)
• A4 Chargeman certification by the Energy Commission is mandatory

Responsibilities

• To perform all electrical installation tasks in support of new and existing machinery from drawings or schematics with minimum supervision.
• To troubleshoot machinery failure (mechanical and electrical) and perform remedial action referencing manuals or schematics with minimum supervision.
• To assess and report condition of equipment and advise on spare parts; rebuild to a high standard.
• To assemble and operate all equipment including generator, transformer, load bank and temperature control equipment.
• To travel for on/offshore jobs on short notice and respond to emergency breakdowns after office hours.
• To use a variety of analog and digital measurement equipment for electrical and mechanical parameter measurements.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Service Technician - Electrical in Johor, Malaysia. This role is responsible for carrying out installations, commissioning, decommissioning as well as maintenance and repairs of equipment.

What you’ll do as Service Technician - Electrical:

• To perform all electrical installation tasks in support of new and existing machinery working from engineering drawings or schematics, with minimum supervision. This will include equipment such as a generator, transformer, load bank or temperature control equipment.
• To troubleshoot machinery failure or breakdown (mechanical and electrical) and to perform remedial action while referring to equipment manuals or electrical schematics with minimum supervision. This will include equipment such as a generator, transformer, load bank or temperature control equipment.
• To strip down and report the condition of a wide range of equipment as stated earlier. To advise on spare parts and to rebuild to a high standard.
• To assemble and operate all equipment which includes the generator, transformer, load bank, temperature control equipment and other equipment.
• To be able and ready to travel for on/offshore jobs on a short notice and to be able to respond to any emergency breakdown calls after office hours.
• To be able to use a variety of analog and digital measurement equipment for electrical and mechanical parameter measurements.

What we're looking for:

• Diploma in Electrical / Electronic /Mechatronics Engineering
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience in the Electrical field, experience in the Mechanical field a plus.
• A4 Chargeman – certified issued by the Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) is a must.
