Job summary

Supermicro in Malaysia is seeking a Repair and Testing Technician to perform testing of defective products, identify repairs, and ensure quality control to commercial standards and customer needs. This position will be responsible for motherboard repair and test, add on card repair and test, backplane repair and test as well as ECO rework and BIOS upgrade.

Qualifications

A diploma in electronic or electrical engineering is preferred; however, candidates possessing a related technical certificate will also be given strong consideration.
Fundamental understanding of PC, system and server operations with basic troubleshooting skills.
Proficient in Windows and/or Linux OS for diagnostics and repair is an advantage.
Skilled use of diagnostic hand tools for hardware/system evaluation.
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative, reliable and solution-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough visual inspections of products prior to testing to ensure readiness and quality compliance.
Conduct comprehensive tests to identify defective components and log findings in the RMA repair database.
Execute ECO upgrades as required to implement design or process modifications.
Follow testing procedures, schedules, and supervisor instructions for consistency and quality.
Maintain productivity and accuracy in a dynamic production environment.
Adhere to policies and contribute flexibly to additional tasks as assigned.
