Job summary

Air Liquide Maritime Sdn Bhd seeks a Senior Mechanical (Rotary) System Engineer to lead the design, packaging and integration of turbo expander skid systems for cryogenic and offshore projects. The role requires deep mechanical know-how, extensive experience with SolidWorks/Aveva PDMS, and familiarity with API/ASME standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 13+ years of experience designing, packaging and integrating high-speed rotating equipment (turbo expanders, centrifugal compressors, or steam turbines).
• Proven track record delivering modular skid packages from conceptual design through fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Develop skid layouts for turbo expander systems including structural and piping interconnections.
• Perform structural analysis for lifting lugs and dynamic loads.
• Create detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical specs for modular skid assemblies.
• Review design documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Integrate instrumentation, valves, and electrical junction boxes on skid packages per hazardous area classifications.
• Lead standardized mechanical layouts and modular designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Draft technical specifications for turbo expanders and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct mechanical, fluid, and thermal calculations for auxiliary systems; evaluate P&IDs and performance curves.
• Participate in FAT and vendor factory tests.
• Collaborate with process, instrumentation, electrical and project management teams to meet project goals.
