Dyson Institute is seeking a Senior Test Technician to lead verification and testing activities for new Dyson products. You will manage test projects in the lab, design and execute tests, review results and report risks to stakeholders.

You will lead a team of Test Technicians and Test Operators, ensuring quality outputs and alignment with safety standards while collaborating with design, engineering and external partners to mitigate risks and improve lab performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related field which is equivalent experience with broad technical engineering skills.
• Experienced in industry that related to Operations of Verification and Testing development at the appropriate level.
• Skilled in project management, verification and testing environment, planning and conducting testing, test method development and you had exposure to test rigs and automation.
• Knowledge in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and statistical analysis.
• Exposure to prototype solutions and benchmark testing methodologies.
• Familiar with international test method standards (IEC, EN, ASTM, etc.).
• Possess people leadership and strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Involve and manage new Dyson products development projects in terms of performance and robustness verification testing in the test labs.
• Collaborate with Test Engineers and technicians to identify, prioritise and plan testing to support test demands.
• Collaborate with external partners to understand risks and define testing approaches.
• Review test requests and align with requirements for product development; report readiness and risks.
• Deliver operational tasks within a lab and lead a team of Test Technicians and Test Operators.
• Ensure quality output of test results, failure reports and advisory to stakeholders.
• Be involved in failure analysis of the Unit Under Test.
• Report results and progress to stakeholders including design engineers.
• Support verification strategy with Test Management and Engineering to improve product designs.
• Assist continuous improvement to optimize lab operation time, cost and quality.
• Specify test equipment to assess risks and set up data acquisition.
• Set up tests individually or with a team and monitor progress.
• Review product features and advise on test setup against designs.
• Carry out related tasks as needed.
