Job summary

Western Digital in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Test Software Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering. You will develop, qualify, and release Test Engineering software to support and enhance manufacturing test processes, including design, debugging, and maintenance for testers, AOI systems, cell controllers, robotics, and conveyors.

The role requires collaborating with process and manufacturing engineers to resolve issues, participate in 8D/FMEA and Test Strategy sessions, maintain version control

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of industry software development experience in manufacturing automation or conveyor systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware components or instrumentation APIs.
• Familiarity with OOP, multithreading, and socket programming concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and release Test Engineering software for testers, AOI systems, and conveyors.
• Design, debug, and maintain software to support manufacturing test processes.
• Collaborate with process and manufacturing engineers to investigate issues and implement improvements.
• Participate in 8D, FMEA, and Test Strategy meetings; ensure version control and documentation.
