Job summary

Flex in Senai, Johor is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead testing activities across in-circuit, functional, ESS, and systems tests. You will design, develop, and validate test programs, interpret data, and coordinate cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and about four years in high-tech electronics testing, with strong knowledge of ICT, FCT, and PCBA troubleshooting, plus hands-on Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of experience in test engineering in high technology electronics.
• Knowledge of ICT, FCT, IC programming and PCBA/tester troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates testing and test control equipment design and calibration.
• Analyzes and interprets test data; prepares technical reports for engineering and management.
• Trains floor staff on test hardware and software; identifies problem-solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain process documentation.

Senior Test Engineer - Flex Senai, Johor

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Test Engineer located in Senai, Johor.

What a typical day looks like:

Principle Accountabilities:

Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.

Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, and record test data.

Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.

Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.

May develops or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.

Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as problem solving techniques.

Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.

Perform and support equipment verification and integration in production.

Create and maintain process documentation.

Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.

Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.

Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:

IN-CIRCUIT

Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.

Develops or modifies test models.

Performs written analysis of fault grade.

Develops quotes for test development and enhancements.

Performs test ability analysis (DFT).

Performs mechanical analysis of test fixtures.

Coordinates 3rd part development of in-circuit programs, enhancements, and test fixtures.

FUNCTIONAL

Develops and/or modifies test programs using various languages (i.e. Python, Lab View, Perl etc.).

Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level.

Designs and supports functional test hardware, computer platforms and interfaces.

Develops test plans and procedures.

Coordinates 3rd party development of functional test development, enhancements, test fixtures.

Develops quotations for functional test hardware and software.

ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS SCREENING (ESS)

Designs, develops and/or supports environmental test programs, procedures and profiles

Designs and/or supports mechanical/electrical interfaces for product tests.

Performs failure analysis on environmental test failures.

Coordinates 3rd party development of ESS activities.

SYSTEMS & SOFTWARE

Analyzes and interprets software or system level diagnostic failure (software and hardware).

Develops and/or modifies software or system level plans and tests.

Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.

Develops quotes for test development and enhancements.

Performs test ability analysis (DFT).

Education / Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.

Typically requires 4 years of experience in test engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.

Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.

Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.

Knowledge and skill in ICT, FCT, IC programming and PCBA/tester troubleshooting

Project management (Test): NPI, Tester development (ICT, FCT and others), Tester’s maintenance, PCBA troubleshooting, yield performance management and RMA
