Job summary

WD is seeking a Software Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering to develop, qualify, and release Test Engineering software for conveyors, AOI systems, and robotics in a HDD component manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on designing, debugging, and maintaining software, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve throughput and quality.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of industry experience in software development/manufacturing automation/conveyor systems is desirable; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware components or instrumentation APIs.
• Experience in developing software for media test equipment or test environments.
• Familiar with OOP, multithreading, socket programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and release TE software for testers, AOI systems, cell controllers, robotics, and conveyors.
• Evaluate software performance, stability, and compliance with requirements.
• Document software version control and maintain safety/regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with process and manufacturing engineers to investigate production issues and implement improvements.
• Participate in 8D, FMEA, and Test Strategy meetings.
