Job summary

WD is seeking a candidate for the HDD Product Engineering team to focus on Functional Integration Test (FIT) execution and test automation for HDD validation. You will work in a hands-on lab environment, ensuring firmware quality across programs while building automation tools to improve efficiency and coverage.

Qualifications include a degree in engineering and familiarity with Linux/Windows, plus programming in C/C++/Python/Java.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Mechatronics) or equivalent.
Fresh graduates welcome; 1–2 years of relevant industry experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of computer hardware architecture and operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++/Python/Java.

Responsibilities

Set up, configure, and maintain FIT test systems for HDD firmware validation.
Design, execute, and document firmware test plans and test cases for HDD products.
Execute test plans covering performance, regression, error handling and stress testing of HDD firmware on multiple host platforms.
Develop and maintain T-REX/Python test scripts to increase test coverage.
Build automation tools to automate repetitive test execution, log parsing, and results reporting.
