Job summary

Virtual Calibre Sdn Bhd is seeking a Test Automation Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks that ensure software quality. You will work with developers, product managers, and QA to embed testing early in the lifecycle, across APIs, UI, and performance testing where applicable.

The role values strong testing fundamentals and adaptability, with tool/language-agnostic approaches and continuous improvement of testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in test automation or QA engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#).
• Experience with at least one test automation framework/tool (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Robot Framework).
• Understanding of testing methodologies (functional, regression, smoke, integration, end-to-end).
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI).
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to define test strategies.
• Identify, document, and track defects; work with teams to resolve them.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Perform API, UI, and performance/load testing where applicable.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate quality risks to stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve test coverage as the product evolves.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools or practices to improve efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews and sprint planning from a quality perspective.
