Job summary

JT International School Melaka seeks a Senior Teacher (Primary-cum-Secondary) to lead curriculum planning, development and delivery, ensuring high academic standards and appropriate learning challenges for all students.

They will mentor junior teachers, conduct observations, support assessment strategies including Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE where applicable, and collaborate with School Management to drive academic improvement and development across year levels.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in planning, development and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring high academic standards and appropriate learning challenges for all students.
• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons across primary and secondary levels.
• Mentor, guide and support junior teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, assessment practices and professional development.
• Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback and support teachers in improving instructional effectiveness.
• Monitor and evaluate students' academic performance, identify areas for improvement and implement intervention strategies.
• Lead curriculum reviews, lesson planning discussions and academic improvement initiatives to ensure consistency and quality across year levels.
• Assist in developing and implementing assessment strategies, including Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE preparation where applicable.
• Promote effective teaching practices based on current educational research and Cambridge International curriculum.
• Undertake leadership duties, attend management meetings and contribute to school improvement and development.
