Job summary

Harvey Norman Malaysia is seeking a Tax Manager to lead tax planning, compliance, and SST initiatives across our Malaysian operations, ensuring alignment with corporate governance. You will coordinate with tax agents and authorities while maintaining robust documentation and controls.

The role requires strong communication and analytical skills to guide finance, legal and operations on tax implications of business decisions. Proactive tax planning and staying up-to-date with laws are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, taxation, or a related field.
• CA or CPA professional qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in tax management.
• Strong knowledge of tax planning strategies and SST.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices with tax agents and authorities.
• Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions and other tax-related activities.
• Collaborate with finance, legal and operations to ensure alignment on tax matters.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions.
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations and identify risks or opportunities for the organization.
• Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness; provide training and support as needed.
• Plan to maximize the Company’s tax advantages via effective tax planning.
• Review provision for tax and deferred tax calculation for operational planning.
