This hands-on role covers the full project lifecycle—from concept design through to construction documentation—for residential, commercial, industrial, and heavy industry sectors. The ideal candidate is technically strong, works independently, and thrives in a fast-paced small office environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a structural engineer.
• Strong technical skills in reinforced concrete, timber, steel and masonry.
• Able to coordinate with draftspeople and provide design sketches.
• Experience in writing forensic reports and reviewing independent specialist reports.
• Effective communicator who can manage a project from concept to construction documentation.
• Ability to interpret structural models and validate design assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for concept design for review by stakeholders across all design stages.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide development of junior staff.
• Coordinate design stages with draftsperson and team.
• Conduct meetings with clients to discuss progress and decisions.
• Able to interpret Australian standards for concrete, steel, masonry and timber.
• Provide innovative solutions requiring creative ideas and autonomous work style.

This is a hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle - from concept design through to construction documentation - across residential, commercial, industrial, and heavy industry sectors. The ideal candidate is technically strong, works independently, and thrives in a fast-paced small office environment.
Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Experienced Senior Structural Engineer with sound technical skills in Reinforced concrete, Timber, Steel and Masonry.
• Able to work with draftsperson and provide structural design sketches and coordinate drawings.
• Write up forensic reports including reviewing independent specialist reports - fire, geotechnical engineer, etc
• A strong communicator and able to successfully manage a project from concept to construction documentation.
• Able to work on structural programs and a clear understanding of technical literature.
• Able to interpret structural models including the ability to derive from first hand principles to validate any assumptions or program outputs.

Task and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the concept design for review by the relevant stakeholders across all stages of the design documentation process.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders to assist in the development of junior staff.
• Coordinate the design stages with the relevant draftsperson and or team.
• Have teams meeting with the clients.
• Be familiar and interpret Australian standards for concrete, steel, masonry and timber.
• Able to provide innovative solutions requiring creative ideas.
• Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and equipped with exceptional time management skills to meet tight deadlines.

Education background:

• Degree qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering-Civil
