Job description

A leading energy operator is seeking experienced Senior Stress Engineers to support a short-term major energy project. The role involves performing stress analysis for piping systems, structural components, and equipment supports across high-profile project installations. Candidates will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance, integrity, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine stress calculations for structural components, piping systems, and equipment supports.
  • Conduct stress analysis for piping connected to compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, and other sensitive equipment.
  • Assist in defining and analysing load cases, including operational, environmental, and accidental loads.
  • Gather design data, material properties, and load information, and prepare analysis models.
  • Interpret results to identify potential overstress or fatigue issues and provide recommendations for design improvements or modifications.
  • Review and coordinate with vendors for critical piping systems, including stress analysis deliverables and reports.
  • Prepare analysis reports, calculations, summaries, and maintain records of inputs, results, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure structural integrity and compliance, and support fabrication, installation, and inspection activities with technical input.
  • Ensure all work adheres to applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Participate in design reviews and quality checks.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in stress analysis of piping and equipment in oil & gas or energy projects.
  • Competent in performing calculations for piping connected to compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, and other sensitive equipment.
  • Knowledge of stress analysis codes and standards applicable to oil & gas projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and organised.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate technical information clearly.
