Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Penang seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead a team of quality engineers and ensure products and processes meet strict quality standards.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage customer quality issues and quality risks, and collaborate across Manufacturing, Process, and Operations to improve yield and reliability for automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and IoT offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Engineering or Science with relevant quality management knowledge.
• Management and technical experience in quality, process, or engineering within semiconductor industry.
• Formal quality training or certifications: ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3; Core Tools; Quality analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineers in daily operations to ensure effective quality control and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
• Establish, monitor, and drive improvement of critical product and process quality metrics (yield, defect rates, Cp/Cpk, reliability).
• Drive cross-functional issue resolution with Process, Equipment, and Operations teams, leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Initiate activities on customer quality requirements, including audits, documentation control, and technical discussions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3) and continuously improve quality processes, lessons learned, and best practices.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that products and manufacturing processes meet required quality standards. This role involves leading quality engineers, managing customer quality issues and quality risks for manufacturing, product changes, and new product introductions. Developing quality competencies and driving continuous improvement to enhance product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
