Job summary

Bitdeer in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Senior / Staff Physical Verification Engineer to own PV checks from block to full-chip level and drive the entire physical design flow from netlist to GDSII in collaboration with Backend teams.

You will perform PV signoff including DRC, LVS, ERC, and reliability checks, monitor runs, and work with Place & Route to resolve issues. Scripting in Perl/Tcl and automation contributions are strongly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on physical verification experience with advanced nodes (N4 and below preferred).
• Proficiency with Calibre and understanding of IC design flow from front-end to back-end signoff.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, Tcl; Make scripting is a plus.
• Tape-out experience is required.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior / Staff Physical Verification Engineer to execute PV checks from the block to fullchip level. You will own the full physical design flow from netlist to GDSII, working closely with circuit design and Backend team to deliver silicon-proven, high-performance designs on leading-edge process nodes.

What You'll Do

• Perform Physical Verification (PV) signoff for advanced-node ASIC/SoC designs, including DRC, LVS, ERC, ANT, ESD, PERC/Reliability, density/fill, and other foundry-required final tape-out checks using the Calibre tool.
• Monitor and manage Physical Verification runs, including hierarchical/flat execution, runtime and resource optimization, result tracking, issue prioritization, and closure toward tape-out milestones.
• Cooperate with Place & Route owners to resolve full-chip layout integration issues.
• Actively support the physical design flow from netlist to GDSII.
• Provide automation solutions to improve efficiency in the tape-out flow.
• Contribute to internal PD methodology, scripts, and flow automation using Perl and Tcl.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. / M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on physical verification experience with advanced TSMC process nodes (N4 and below preferred).
• Hands‑on proficiency with the industry‑standard Calibre tool.
• Good knowledge of the complete IC design flow, from front‑end design through back‑end implementation and signoff.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, Tcl, and Make scripting is a plus.
• Tape‑out experience is required.
