Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Malaysia seeks a seasoned professional to drive process integration, product engineering and technology development for advanced semiconductor technologies. The role emphasizes improving yield, cost, stability and quality across new product ramps.

You will lead 8D investigations, perform DOE analyses, and collaborate across Front End/Back End interfaces to resolve yield and reliability challenges.

Qualifications

• PhD, Master’s or Bachelor's in a physics/engineering field relevant to semiconductors.
• Deep knowledge of semiconductor device physics and wafer fabrication processes.
• Experience with 8D, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma and DOE.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry preferred.
• Experience in Process Integration, Yield Enhancement, Product Engineering or Technology Development is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support new technology product development/transfer and ramp of yield, cost, stability and quality of new technologies and products.
• Initiate/lead yield, inline, PCM, DD, cost and quality improvement programs; identify margin-related issues and drive improvements.
• Perform deviation assessment to ensure quality and reliability meeting standards; provide risk analysis on quality.
• Lead fast feedback to production in case of deviation; identify source and pursue prevention; lead 8D.
• Support technology synchronization and maintenance of technology FMEA.
• Containment and improvement planning for customer issues.
• Lead technical topics across functions and technologies.
• DOE splits for process margin study and improvement; enhance technology/product performance.
• Own wafer fab performance indicators such as fab yield, PCM, inline and DD stability.
• Own wafer test performance and interface between Front End and Back End on yield, quality and reliability.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

Responsibilities Process Integration / Product Engineering

• Support new technology product development/transfer. Drive integration and ramp‑up of yield, cost, stability and quality of new technologies and new products.
• Initiate/lead yield, inline, PCM, DD, cost and quality improvement programs. Identify product or technology, or process margin‑related problems. Work with business unit, developer and unit process to improve stability, yield, cost and quality.
• Deviation lot assessment and disposition to ensure quality of products delivered to customers meets quality and reliability standards. Provide expert knowledge on risk assessment of product quality and reliability.
• Drive fast feedback to production line in case of deviation, identify source, and pursue prevention. Lead 8D.
• Lead/support technology synchronization and maintenance of technology FMEA.
• Support and provide containment and improvement plan for customer issue.
• Lead technical topics across functional, cross technologies.

Responsibilities Process Integration

• Perform DOE splits for process margin study and improvement to enhance technology/product performance.
• Own wafer fab performance indicators such as fab yield, PCM, inline and DD stability.

Responsibilities Product Engineering

• Own wafer test performance such as wafer function test yield.
• Act as an interface between Front End and Back End on yield, quality and reliability improvement topics.
• Interface with business unit on product specification issues.

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• Phd, master’s or bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Device Physics, Semiconductor Device, Wafer Fabrication, Material Science, Engineering in Microelectronics, Electronics, Electrical, Material or Chemical.
• Excellent knowledge of semiconductor device physics and wafer fabrication processes, with a passion for semiconductor devices.
• In‑depth knowledge of all types of analysis and problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma and DOE.
• Strong communication skills, able to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to drive and lead improvement projects.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry preferred.
• Candidates with direct fab experience in Process Integration, Yield Enhancement, Product Engineering or Technology Development will have an added advantage.
