Job summary

Ryt Bank in Malaysia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to advance DevSecOps practices, platform strategy, and reliable software delivery. You will drive infrastructure as code and automated releases to support banking services with a strong focus on reliability and security.

You will work on IaC, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native microservices, automation, and release management, ensuring alignment with business goals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ownership.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent roles.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud).
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Deep expertise with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Proven ability to design and implement observability solutions using modern monitoring stacks.
• Experience leading incident response and building post-mortem processes.
• Strong understanding of Java or any other OOP language.
• Strong understanding of containers and orchestration.
• Kafka experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases is a plus.
• Balance hands-on technical work with strategic decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.
• High ownership of responsibilities, with focus on delivering results and deadlines.
• Financial services experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of highly available, secure, and scalable banking infrastructure using IaC principles
• Establish and maintain SLOs/SLIs that define reliability standards
• Serve as incident commander during critical service disruptions with cross-functional teams
• Build and enhance observability platform for real-time monitoring of uptime, latency, saturation, and error rate
• Develop automation solutions for incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Drive our DevSecOps platform to enable safe, rapid deployments via CI/CD, GitOps, and self-service
• Lead FinOps initiatives to optimize infrastructure usage while maintaining performance
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of operational excellence
