Job summary

Guidewire Software, a leading cloud platform for P&C insurers, seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, performance, and scalability of its Guidewire Cloud Platform. You will collaborate with development teams, automate runbooks, and apply software engineering discipline to reduce toil and improve customer outcomes.

You will monitor and optimize distributed systems, design CI/CD pipelines, and leverage AWS/Kubernetes with Terraform.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with Python/Go/Java and clean, testable code.
• Experience designing and deploying SLI’s/SLO’s and error budgets.
• Experience with application performance monitoring and telemetry tools.
• Experience triaging and debugging distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing and engineering CI/CD pipelines in K8s and legacy ecosystems.
• Experience building, deploying, and running scalable infrastructure in AWS/Kubernetes using Terraform and other cloud-native approaches.
• Experience managing infrastructure config at scale with GitOps, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and reduce customer impact.
• Develop automated runbooks and proactive issue handling measures.
• Apply engineering principles and automation to operating environments.
• Monitor, maintain, and enhance reliability and performance on Guidewire Cloud Platform.
• Leverage automation and software engineering to optimize systems and reduce toil.
• Document and examine incidents to improve processes and prevent recurrence.
• Stay current with SRE trends, tools, and best practices.
• Support a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure availability and reliability.
