Job summary

AT&S, a leading global IC substrates and PCB manufacturer, seeks a Senior Specialist/Specialist in Plant Engineering (Plating) for Kulim, Malaysia. You will lead Desmear, plating-related processes, and drive qualification, tool installation, and process improvements within the Copper Plating team.

You will manage cross-functional activities, develop DOE/FMEA plans and mentor technicians to meet strict milestones while maintaining yield targets in a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in Semiconductor/PCB/Substrate fabrication, wafer fabrication, assembly and test engineering, maintenance or production operations.
• Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA, CP, JMP software, Six Sigma process tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good analytical abilities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, be dedicated, results-oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to be a role model in a startup team.
• Able to lead teams of engineers and technicians to meet installation and qualification milestones.

Responsibilities

• In charge of Desmear, Electroless Plating, Post Plating Annealing processes in Copper Plating engineering.
• Coordinate project management, tool installation and qualification to milestones.
• Coordinate plating process activities with other departments and suppliers.
• Develop qualification plans, DOE, DFM and FMEA, and evaluation procedures.
• Ensure proper pass-down information per company standards and templates.
• Aim to improve and maintain yield following the plant yield roadmap and continuous improvement projects.
• Investigate root causes and recovery during machine releases; validate supplier modifications.
• Involve in training to elevate the production team with process controls and recovery plans.

Your Responsibilities

• In charge of Desmear, Electroless Planning, Post Plating Annea processes in the Copper Plating engineering department
• Work for project management, tools installation and qualification to meet the milestone set
• Coordinate the Plating process activities with other departments related to machine or material suppliers
• Develop qualification plans, design of experiment (DOE), Design Process and Device/product FMEA and evaluation/ qualification procedures
• Ensure proper pass down information in accordance to the company standards and templates
• Responsible on improving and maintaining the yield in accordance to the plant yield roadmap, able to sustain target yield and output capacity thorough comprehensive continuous improvement and projects
• Focus on executing of process root cause and recovery during releasing of machine, validate the completion of supplier modification/engineering fixing and overview the process to be more healthiness
• Involve in Training Execution to bring up whole Production Team with adequate process controls and recovery plans

Your Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Material Science fields or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience in Semiconductor or PCB or Substrate Fabrications, Wafer Fabrication, Assembly and Test Engineering, Maintenance or Production Operations or equivalent, (required to work in clean room enviroment)
• Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA, CP, JMP Software, Six Sigma Process tools
• Strong problem solving skills, good analytical skills
• Able to work independently, minimum supervision, dedicated, results oriented, hardworking and able to work under pressure
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, becoming role models as pioneer start up team
• Able to lead teams of Engineers, Technicians to meet strict installation and qualification milestone
