Job summary

Serveco in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of solar PV systems for hospital energy projects.

You will monitor performance, conduct energy audits, and help implement EMS to achieve EMGS certification, while coordinating maintenance and renewable energy initiatives with internal teams and external contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, solar energy systems, or energy management.
• Experience supporting an Energy Management System (EMS) and EMGS certification is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as CEM, REEM, or GCPV are an advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, solar PV technology, and energy management.
• Familiarity with Malaysian energy regulations, sustainability standards, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in energy monitoring software, data analysis, and technical reporting.
• Good project management, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of solar PV systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot solar energy systems to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance.
• Perform maintenance and servicing of hospital electrical systems, including solar PV systems, backup power systems, lighting, and other electrical components.
• Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtimes.
• Support the hospital’s Energy Management System (EMS) to achieve Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) certification.
• Conduct energy audits, analyse energy consumption data, and identify opportunities for energy savings.
• Assist in implementing energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability programmes.
• Coordinate electrical maintenance activities and renewable energy projects with internal teams and external contractors.
• Ensure electrical maintenance and project activities comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and requirements.
• Support project planning, monitoring, and execution to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and maintenance personnel.
• Research new solar technologies, energy storage solutions, and energy management practices to improve system performance.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation related to energy consumption, maintenance activities, and project progress.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
