Job summary

Sunway Berhad is seeking a software developer to join a collaborative team. You will build software across web, desktop, and middleware applications, while studying requirements and preparing necessary documentation.

You will participate in design discussions, work on performance optimization, and provide testing and support. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to scalable architectures are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science with minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes (Agile, Waterfall, V‑Model).
• Good understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL databases; OO programming and UML.
• Experience writing unit tests and automated testing as part of development.

Job Description

Perform software development based on project requirements, and technology exploration on new platform and IT trends (Web,Desktop, Console & Middleware Applications).

Study and understand and perform analysis on user requirements based on system requirements specifications or discussion with team members and users.

Prepare and maintain projects document like Technical Manual,User Manual, Installation Guide, etc.

Participate in technical discussion/brainstorming session with project team/vendors.

Learn and apply full-stack performance tuning and optimization techniques.

Perform software testing (unit testing, performance test, system integration test and regression test) with team members and ensure software quality are met.

Attend to remedy cases and provide onsite/offsite system support and perform trouble shooting and technical consultation to users.

Perform software packaging, deployment, installation, and configuration.

Mentor junior engineers on software development best practices to support team growth.

Collaborate with the team to explore and create new designs and architectures for scalability and performance.

Engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.

Take ownership of several microservices within the team, ensuring their reliability and performance.

Job Requirements

Degree in Computer Science (or related field)with minimum total of 3 years experience in software development.

Understanding of the System Development Life Cycle processes, from initial study through implementation. E.g., Agile, Waterfall, V-Model, etc.

Good knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) structure (MSSQL, MYSQL), and NoSQL (MongoDB).

Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Concept and Tools. E.g., UML Modelling Method, Process and Data Flow, Entity Relation Diagram.

The habit of automatic testing as a natural part of the development flow.

Have experience code written with Unit Test.

Familiar with System Troubleshooting tools and method.
