Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on Golang experience to join our development team in Selangor. You will own backend development, API design, and system architecture, with exposure to Next.js and deployment processes.

You will design scalable solutions, integrate third-party services, and mentor teammates while collaborating with frontend, QA, and product teams to deliver robust features.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Golang with at least one year of practical work.
• Strong experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with third-party API integrations.
• Strong understanding of backend development and software architecture.
• Experience with Next.js is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of SQL and Clickhouse.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and coding best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions and deliverables.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications and services using Golang.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Integrate multiple third-party APIs to securely access, process, and exchange external data.
• Design and improve API aggregation and integration services to provide unified solutions for merchants and internal systems.
• Review and improve existing system architecture to enhance scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain web portals and back-office systems using Next.js.
• Work closely with Frontend Developers, QA Engineers, and other team members to deliver new features and system improvements.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective, long-term solutions.
• Identify potential technical risks and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Configure and maintain local, staging, and production environments.
• Support application deployment and investigate production-related issues when required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Participate in technical discussions, system design, architecture decisions, and development planning.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure timely and quality delivery.
